Degree Programs Harvard Graduate School of Design

harvard graduate school of design

Whatever our individual roles, and wherever we work within Harvard, we owe it to one another to uphold certain basic values of the community. As new ways of thinking emerge in the profession of architecture, the field grows increasingly complex and requires new techniques of inquiry and design. For generations, the GSD has educated committed individuals who have assumed leadership roles in shaping the built environment. Today’s graduates in architecture continue this tradition by pioneering new design approaches to the challenges posed by contemporary society. Together with visiting design critics and theorists from around the world, architecture faculty and students explore a range of design investigations, expand knowledge, and confront the challenges of the contemporary built environment. Collaboration thrives in Gund Hall’s distinctive trays, five continuous tiers of open studio space.

Keep in mind that you can combine almost any two master’s programs to earn concurrent degrees. Accredited by the Planning Accreditation Board and open to students with an undergraduate degree, the two-year professional Master in Urban Planning (M.U.P.) degree program engages with critical issues facing cities and regions in coming decades. Drawing on the strengths of the department, school, and university, GSD planning students learn how to understand, analyze, and influence the variety of forces—social, economic, cultural, legal, political, ecological, and aesthetic, among others—shaping the built environment. An important measure of a professional degree program’s success is the ability of its graduates to secure significant and enhanced employment following graduation. The MRE degree program enjoys the advantages of Harvard’s provision of career services and its vast network of alumni engaged in real estate practice worldwide.

House TV Series 2004 2012

house cast

Just about eight years ago, we said goodbye to the M.D.'s on House after a thrilling eight seasons of unexplained medical cases, exciting friendships and plenty of zingers from Hugh Laurie's Dr. House. Peter Jacobson joined the cast of "House" as Dr. Chris Taub in season four. Foreman was one of the most prominent characters in all eight seasons of "House." Lisa Edelstein starred as Dr. Lisa Cuddy, Princeton–Plainsboro Teaching Hospital's Dean of Medicine and Dr. House's love interest, in "House" from seasons one to seven. Peter Jacobson plays the role of Dr. Chris Taub, a plastic surgeon who joins Dr. House's team.

Omar Epps played Dr. Eric Foreman.

A celebrated English comedian who was previously best known for A Bit of Fry & Laurie, Sense and Sensibility, 101 Dalmatians, and Stuart Little 1 & 2, House gave Laurie a great deal of acclaim as a dramatic actor, furthering his career in the U.S. Lisa Edelstein is not a doctor, which she played for seven years as part of the House cast, and she is not a divorced middle-aged woman as she portrayed in Bravo’s Girlfriends Guide to Divorce. Yet Edelstein has the feisty, independent streak both onscreen women possess.

He received two Golden Globes and many other accolades for his role and was listed in the 2011 Guinness World Records as the most watched leading man on television. Laurie auditioned for the part of Dr. House via video shot in a hotel bathroom in Namibia, where he was shooting Flight of the Phoenix. James Hugh Calum Laurie was born on June 11, 1959 in Oxford, England; his father a real-life doctor and also an Olympic gold medalist in rowing. Laurie himself pursued rowing at Selwyn College, but during a bout of glandular fever, he was forced to abandon the sport and joined the Cambridge Footlights, a university drama club where he met actress Emma Thompson. The heart and soul of this extraordinary show is its talented ensemble cast that breathes life into complex characters. These talented actors have crafted compelling and distinctive portrayals that continue to resonate today.

Lisa Edelstein starred as Dr. Lisa Cuddy.

We were introduced to Jennifer Morrison's character Dr. Allison Cameron in the first season of House, where she was the only woman on the team at first. After portraying the unforgettable role on the show, Leonard went on to play a recurring role in Falling Skies and in the miniseries The Hot Zone. He also took the stage in theatre productions of To Kill a Mockingbird, Camelot and more. Now, we see Jesse Spencer in show where he is leading a team as he plays the character Captain Matthew Casey in Chicago Fire. We loved watching Peter Jacobson's portrayal as Taub, a dynamic character that was both an addict and a voice of reason for the other doctors. While her season seven arc as the Martha M. Masters was short and sweet, we've seen a lot of Amber Tamblyn since when she starred in 24 episodes of Two and a Half Men and being a critical voice around the #MeToo movement.

Created by David Shore, the Emmy-winning series ran for eight seasons on Fox and it was one of the highest-rated shows on television during its peak. It also notably elevated Kal Penn and Olivia Wilde's careers, who joined the acclaimed series during its second half. Having concluded its run in 2012, it's been eight years since House aired on TV.

She also did print work for JC Penney and commercials for Rice Krispies and Mondo. After high school, Jennifer attended Loyola University in Chicago, studying theater and English. Before relocating to Los Angeles to pursue her acting career, she studied at the famed Steppenwolf Theater company in Chicago.

Family and friends

The role was played by Robert Sean Leonard in all eight seasons. No longer a world where an idealized doctor has all the answers or a hospital where gurneys race down the hallways, House's focus is on the pharmacological—and the intellectual demands of being a doctor. The trial-and-error of new medicine skillfully expands the show beyond the format of a classic procedural, and at the show's heart, a brilliant but flawed physician is doling out the prescriptions—a fitting symbol for modern medicine. “I had some pretty bleak times, dark days when it seemed like there was no escape,” he continued. “And having a very Presbyterian work ethic, I was determined never to be late, not to miss a single day’s filming.

Here's what the cast of House has been working on since the program came to a close. As Dr. Robert Chase, the diagnostic team's surgeon and intensive care specialist, Jesse Spencer played a prominent role throughout House's tenure. The Australian actor was previously known for Neighbours and Uptown Girl, though House is arguably considered his most famous role. Nevertheless, once the Fox medical show concluded, Spencer joined another long-running series. Specifically, Spencer can be seen as Lieutenant/Captain Matthew Casey on the NBC drama series, Chicago Fire. He got the gig in 2012 and still remains on the popular series.

As the show's titular, grumpy doctor, Hugh Laurie led eight seasons of the iconic show and scooped up Golden Globe awards in the process. Whether you caught Laurie in The Night Manager or watched the dreamy Dr. Robert Chase save the day in Chicago Fire, all of our favorites from the show have gone on to star in great shows and movies. Will also air a mini-marathon of House episodes on Friday, July 24 starting at 2 p.m., so we're catching up with the cast and what they've achieved since we last saw them at Princeton–Plainsboro Teaching Hospital.

Throughout House's run, six of the main actors have received star billing. They kiss and agree to try being a couple.[115] Throughout season seven, House and Cuddy try to make their relationship work, but Cuddy eventually breaks it off because of House's addiction. House struggles to deal with this and, in the season-seven finale, drives his car into Cuddy's living room in anger.

On February 8, 2012, Fox announced that the eighth season, then in progress, would be its last.[4] The series finale aired on May 21, 2012, following an hour-long retrospective. The role garnered Edelstein the People’s Choice Award for Favorite TV Actress. As Dr. Gregory House, the troubled title character of House and Head of Diagnostic Medicine, Hugh Laurie gave an award-winning performance at the center of this show, and the only actor to appear in every episode of its nearly 200-episode run.

Perhaps her biggest role was as Dr. Lisa Cuddy, the Dean of Medicine, on House. She was the frequent adversary, friend and eventual girlfriend of House, her responsibility, it seemed, to play the grown-up foil to the ragamuffin Dr. House. No stranger to fearless and even iconic TV roles, she was Rob Lowe’s call girl girlfriend on West Wing, transsexual Cindy on Ally McBeal and the first out-lesbian on network TV in Relativity. One of the most talked about departures from a TV series was Epps' as surgical resident Dr. Dennis Gant on ER, which left audiences wondering if his character committed suicide or not. Chief of Diagnostic Medicine at the fictional Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital.

Beyond doubt, the performances of the cast of House have shaped an enduring legacy that fans will continue to treasure for years to come. After its first five seasons, House was included in various critics' top-ten lists; these are listed below in order of rank. It wasn't a massive move when I first considered [doing House]. What usually happens is you do a pilot and of the very few picked up, only about a quarter go to a second year. We knew the network was looking for procedurals, and Paul [Attanasio] came up with this medical idea that was like a cop procedural. But I quickly began to realize that we needed that character element.

He appeared in lead roles in such films as Against the Ropes opposite Meg Ryan, Alfie opposite Jude Law and Susan Sarandon, In Too Deep, Higher Learning and more. House was among the top 10 series in the United States from its second through fourth seasons. Distributed to 71 countries, it was the most-watched TV program in the world in 2008.[3] It received numerous awards, including five Primetime Emmy Awards, two Golden Globe Awards, a Peabody Award, and nine People's Choice Awards.

His flouting of hospital rules and procedures frequently leads him into conflict with his boss, hospital administrator and Dean of Medicine Dr. Lisa Cuddy (Lisa Edelstein). His only true friend is Dr. James Wilson (Robert Sean Leonard), head of the Department of Oncology. TV network Fox took a chance on the program about a group of doctors at New Jersey’s Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital, and it was obvious from the beginning that it would would be one of their mainstays. Season one alone logged in an average of 13 million viewers per episode — peaking in season three with almost 20 million viewers!

Below is a list of actors and actresses that are or were part of the cast of the American drama television series House. House would last for eight seasons, airing its final episode on May 21, 2012. However, it couldn’t have come at a better time for Hugh, who found himself struggling to continue to play the iconic character. In addition to TV and feature films, he’s is a three-time Tony Award nominee and won Best Featured Actor in a Play in 2001 for his role in The Invention of Love.

Tiki has been alive and well in Glendale since the 1930’s, at Damon’s Steak House. The prime rib is still the draw here, though the outrageously neon interior is its own reason to go. More often than not, al fresco patios tend to involve more views of the sidewalk with the odd plant to break up the tarmac. So to have the opportunity to live out your childhood dreams of hanging out in a “treehouse” all day, enjoying the crisp air and soaking up the sun, is the kind of novelty we’d like to see more of.

A legendary Hollywood Blvd. haunt, Musso & Frank Grill has been cutting steaks since 1919. The decor hasn’t changed much since then, and the waiters still wear those bright red jackets, but for pure charm (and a great bar), it’s hard to beat. First opened in 1953, Taylor’s Steakhouse moved to their current location on 8th Street in 1970, then watched as the the neighborhood completely shifted through the decades. This longtime Koreatown staple still serves their ten-ounce sirloin culotte steaks, and sitting in the red naugahyde booths is as fun as ever.

Owl House Rule 34 Porn Videos

After Luz is restored to life by a repentant Titan, the Collector helps keep her friends and the Archive House safe, and is shown gratitude by Amity once Belos is defeated and destroyed. After restoring everyone under his spell, the Collector decides to return to the stars to do some "growing up", but is encouraged by King to revisit the Isles in the future. He also creates a permanent portal between the Human and Demon Realms for Luz, and returns to put on a light show for her "King-ceañera" party. This declaration became increasingly resonant over the course of “The Owl House’s” three-season run, which concluded Saturday, as the show repeatedly broke new ground for LGBTQ representation in kid-friendly animation. Nurturing a central queer teen romance in a world that embraces a full spectrum of sexual orientations and gender identities, the series has been a vital beacon of queer perseverance and joy at a time when right-wing activists and politicians have become increasingly hostile to the LGBTQ community, often targeting queer and trans youth.

She also decides to reflect on her earlier antagonistic behavior after realizing her own attitude was not helping.[48] From that point on, Amity's personality changes from open hatred[35] to genuine friendliness, though displaying nervousness around Luz.[6] "Understanding Willow" reveals that Amity has been putting on an act under the controlling influence of her parents, namely her emotionally abusive mother, Odalia, who blackmailed her into ditching Willow. While she was seemingly excited to join the Emperor's Coven, Odalia had groomed her to join. Thanks to Luz's emotional support, she makes amends with Willow and restores their friendship, and also ends her forced association with Boscha.[40] She is later revealed to have a crush on Luz,[46] to the point that she gets nervous when around her.[42] Amity has since become her own person, welcomed by her genuine friends Luz, Willow, and Gus, and appears to be more in control of her emotions while around her. While Harvey is shown to be very protective and studious, Gilbert secretly allows her to escape to help her friends.[8] In "Hunting Palismen", Willow gets her own staff and palisman in the form of a bee named Clover.[2] In "Any Sport in a Storm", she starts a Flying Derby team with Gus, Skara, Viney, and an incognito Hunter. Despite the latter's betrayal, he reforms and rescues his friends, causing Willow to become more appreciative of him.[43] At the end of "King's Tide", Willow flees to the human realm with Luz, Amity, Gus and Hunter.[16] She eventually returns to the Boiling Isles, where she finally faces Boscha and overcomes her self-doubt with help from Hunter, whom she is implied to have a crush on.[17] In the epilogue, Willow continues to play flying derby.

However, she is surprised when Luz shows kindness while trying to comfort her and allows her to continue magic training.[25] Despite still acting hostile towards Luz, Amity slowly begins to show a sentimental side and claims she is trying to understand Luz. Eventually, she starts to become fascinated with her desire to be genuine friends, and after a night of peril with her at the library, they make up and bond over their shared love of The Good Witch Azura. This leads Amity to realize that Luz never meant any harm and that she never took the time to get to know her.

In season two, Amity is put upon by Odalia and Alador when they expel her friends from Hexside for being a "bad influence" on her. But when they endager Luz when she tries to get her and her friends back into school, she stands up to Odalia and gets them back into Hexside.[8] She acknowledges that Luz's arrival changed her for the better, and redyes her hair lilac because Odalia forced her to have her hair dyed green to match with her siblings. In season two, Gus is shown to have slightly aged, which according to him is "witch puberty".[8] He also begins to hone his illusion abilities when he aids an illusion master known as the Keeper of the Looking Glass Ruins.[10] In "Hunting Palismen", Gus gets his own staff and palisman in the form of a blue chameleon named Emmiline Bailey Marcostimo.[2] Gus joins Willow's Flying Derby team and befriends Hunter, despite his attempt to betray them.[43] In "Labyrinth Runners", Gus is shown to have had trouble making friends, as everyone takes advantage of his intellect. Willow became his first genuine friend and taught him a breathing technique, which Gus later shares with Hunter. His illusionary abilities are also revealed to be rather powerful, but can become untamed if he is stressed or upset. He befriends Hunter, who becomes another genuine friend.[47] At the end of "King's Tide", Gus flees to the human realm with Luz, Amity, Willow and Hunter.[16] He eventually returns along with Luz and the rest of the gang to help defeat the Collector, and eventually, Belos.[17] In the epilogue, Gus becomes a teacher in the wild magic university.

King tries to reason with the Collector upon realizing he is essentially a lonely, misguided child, but Belos, barely alive and possessing Raine's puppet body, convinces the Collector that King is conspiring with Luz and her friends against him.[17] After placing Luz, Eda and King in several dream scenarios and games, the Collector is disheartened with their resistance and reveals his full story to the trio. Showing sympathy for him, they take him on a tour of the Boiling Isles to the sites of past adventures so they can help him understand true friendship. When Belos possesses the Titan's heart and infects the Boiling Isles, Luz sacrifices her life to save the Collector, who becomes remorseful while realizing the fragility and value of life.

Luz, a self-assured teenage human girl, accidentally stumbles upon a portal to a magical new world where she befriends a rebellious witch, Eda, and an adorably tiny warrior, King. Despite not having magical abilities, Luz pursues her dream of becoming a witch by serving as Eda's apprentice at the Owl House and ultimately finds a new family in an unlikely setting. In season two, it is shown that Bump openly enjoys Luz's presence at the school but is forced by the Blights to expel her, Gus, and Willow, despite not wanting to. When they attempt to get back into school, he is upset at having to prevent them from entering, and that he thinks life was dull without them.[8] "Hunting Palismen" reveals that the devil "hat" on his head is actually his palisman Frewin, which allows him to see due to an unspecified incident in his youth. When Frewin is not on his head, Bump is shown to have long black hair, a scar on his right eye, and a closed left eye.[2] In "Them's The Breaks Kid", it is shown that Bump used to be Hexside's vice-principal, where he worked under Faust, but their ideals clash with that of their students.[58] When Adrian Graye and the Emperor's Coven raid Hexside to force the students into joining the Emperor's Coven, Bump is among the teachers and students that take refuge in the Healing Track's homeroom.

King then sends Luz and her friends away to the Human Realm to protect them from the Collector's games.[16] As he spends time with the Collector as his chosen playmate, King comes to understand that he is misguided rather than malicious and discourages Eda and Lilith from attempting to reimprison him. Upon Luz's return, King and Eda reunite with her and aid her in befriending the Collector and destroying Belos once and for all. In the epilogue, King's developing Titan powers allow him to create a new glyph system, which he begins to teach Luz. Belos' plans come to fruition as he reveals he never intended to free the Collector before Luz stops him from returning to the human world by branding him with a sigil in an attempt to force him to cancel the draining spell.

States have passed or proposed an increasing number of anti-LGBTQ laws, including those that prevent any mention of sexual orientation and gender identity in classrooms, ban gender-affirming care, bar students from competing in sports or using restrooms that align with their gender identity, force teachers to out trans students and more. Not to mention the intensifying movement to ban books, including those that even hint at LGBTQ subject matter. Of course, “The Owl House” is more than a collection of representational milestones. It’s a fun, funny and heartfelt series that celebrates individuality, family, kindness and creativity set in a creepy, vibrant world.

After the students defeat Graye and the Emperor's Coven, Bump gets them to leave by stating that he would tell Emperor Belos that they were defeated by children.[47] He is captured by the Collector after the events of "King's Tide" and the remaining Hexside students create a statue in his honor, though he is later revived. In the epilogue, Bump has retired from being the principal of Hexside, and is last seen watering his plants. From passionate encounters between Luz and Amity to steamy group scenes with multiple characters, our diverse range of videos guarantees to satisfy a wide range of interests. Created by Dana Terrace, “The Owl House,” which is now available in its entirety on Disney+, follows Luz, a human teenager who stumbles into an alternate dimension known as the demon realm. A spunky, spirited fantasy lover with a penchant for getting carried away, Luz doesn’t quite fit in in the human world, so she decides to begin training as a witch rather than go back home. Grassland, fallow fields, hayfields, open marshes, savannah, and cropland/pasture are ideal habitat for barn owls. Like “The Owl House,” most of the other standout LGBTQ-centric animated shows have concluded or have been canceled.

When Luz arrives, she unintentionally causes her to lose her cool in front of her teacher and Principal Bump; she also loses her top student title when she nearly gets Luz killed.[23] In her next appearance, she begins to hold severe disdain towards Luz, blaming her for getting her in trouble and mocking her dream of becoming a witch. This leads Luz to challenge her to a witches' duel, which will determine whether Luz will continue witch training. However, when Amity is exposed of cheating on Lilith's part, she runs off and lashes out at Luz, accusing her for humiliating her in front of the Emperor's Coven and embarrassing her at school, while lamenting how much pressure she puts on herself to be the best.
